The poltergeist has left me and i'm in a flow! Next week a job interview and another important thing that I've waited for for sooooo long! Yey!
I still think there's an evil spirit living in my mixer though because it's still acting weird:)

Poltergeist

I think I have a poltergeist messing with my life. Everything breaks at the moment. Last in line to break, after my home laptop, my work laptop, my kitchen mixer and a big bowl of sourcream all over my freezer and kitchen floor, my camera broke this weekend after Malaika accidently dropped it from about two feet down onto a soft carpet! How did THAT happen??
Other than that life is fine. Busy week. Monday we had a scout meeting at the indoor swimmingpool in Burlöv and yesterday we went to a political meeting. Tomorrow I'm going to a parents meeting and Malaika is gonna be with my class mate Tiff.
This evening, though, is going to be a calm and ordinary evening, hopefully.

New computer!

Playing with my new computer. Here are some new pics of Malaika dressed up as "an old lady" with her Winnie the pooh towel:)
And also a cool pic of a cool boat that visited our scout meeting today!
Now I'm gonna watch the latest episode of House and go to bed. Looking forward to seeing Malaika again tomorrow!

RIP dear computer

Yesterday, Malaika spilled water all over my computer while watching her beloved Mickey. So now it's dead. My computer, not the mouse, unfortunately. I already ordered a new one but it won't arrive until next week I suppose. I'm planning on bringing my work computer home but I'm unsure if I can get it to work with my internet connection. So if you don't see me online this weekend I'm not dead, just my computer...
Poor Malaika, how my reaction to her announcement "mommy, I spilled water" must have scared her! I usually just say "that's OK, sweetie, it's just water" but not this time I must admit.
I yelled NOOOOOOOOO and then started acting really weird (from her persepctive) with a hair dryer (trying to save what could be saved by drying it up as soon as I could, didn't work)....

Then I had to call my mum and complain so that Malaika wouldn't get all of it, because it really wasn't her fault, it was mine, letting her bring a glass of water into the same room as the computer...

Have a nice weekend everyone, we will!

Update

We had a great weekend in Karlshamn again:) The original reason for visiting karlshamn this time was my friends son's birtthday party. He was turning four years old. The party was nice with nine children and a bunch of parents having hotdogs and ice cream (and a lot of coffee for the parents)
Then i went home and slept! My Gosh the noise a bunch of four year old can make!!!!

Saturday night we stayed at home with grandma and Jojje and watched Midsomer Murders. Very relaxing. Sunday we went for a long walk by the sea and then met my old friend Malin for some fika that turned into a dinner:) Very nice! She has a ten month old daughter who was five months last time I saw her. Need i say she had grown?:)

Yesterday we were tired and stayed at home. Malaika built a very nice "dog house" for herself and decided to kidnap my computer and watch Mickey Mouse Club house in her dog house:)

Kalas!

Wonderful weekend in Karlshamn!

First of all, I've found my camera! My wonderful camera that takes wonderful pictures that I thought I had lost, I discovered it in the deepest, darkest drawer of my kitchen. Yey!
So I went crazy and must have taken more than 80 pictures last weekend, most of them of Malaika, Karlshamn and mormor (grandma). Would have taken of my dad too but unfortunately my camera eats batteries so it ran out before we got to dad's place on Sunday afternoon. I'll photograph them next time I promise!
For now I give you lots of pictures of Malaika in different situations with her grandma and Jojje (the guy that grandma lives together with) and wonderful views of beautiful Karlshamn and quite a lot of birds that Malaika fed with bread crumbs on Saturday afternoon and one of malaika and her new friend at Linnea's birthday party:)
And we had such perfect, sunny, autumn-weather the whole weekend too! And look at the view of the sea. I love my hometown more and more:) Too bad I'm not living there, or maybe thats why I can really see how beautiful it is...

Today it's Thursday and we're looking forward to another busy weekend, this time in Malmö. Tomorrow night we're visiting our friends that we met during our vacation in Rhodes in June, on Saturday morfar (grandpa) and Hatte (who morfar lives with) are coming for a visit and in the evening my scout-leader friends are coming over for dinner and board games! Wiiii!
Saturday we're meeting some social democratic women at a caféand then visiting my collegue Hannah who just went on maternity leave (no baby yet though, due date 11-11-11!!!).

So just a lot of fun! Pictures from that next week!:)

Short weekend, long week

We've had a wonderful weekend in Karlshamn. Most of it we spent with grandma and Jojje. The weather was suberb on Sunday morning so we took a walk in the woods/by the sea. So wonderful!
Sunday afternoon we visited my old (as in having been friends for long time, not in years:)) friend Lina and her family. Her daughter is Malaika's age and the two of them played really well together. And so did Lina and I! :)
This week feels like it's gonna be a long one already! Not much fun happening and a lot of annoying stuff...
Oh well I'll survive,,,

Scouting!

We've become scouts, Malaika and I. Mostly I, I used to be a scout leader when I was younger but I stopped when I moved away from Karlshamn 10 years ago. But now I've found a scout group in Malmö and started up as a leader again. And malaika has to come along of course since I seldom have a baby sitter. But it's working better, much better than i had hoped! I'm loving it! So does Malaika it seems!
:)
This passed weekend we spent with four other leaders and 10 scouts between 8 and 11 years old at a scout cabin in a nearby little town (Lomma). We had a great time and great indian summer weather. Yesterday we had a meeting, the last sailing meeting for the season and this upcoming weekend there is some more scouting to be done.

Did I mention I'm loving it?:) Here's a picture from last weekend! Courtesy of Cecilia:)

Morning hair!

Tired Malaika with morning hair watching Dora the Explorer. This was about 6.45 am and before I had had the time to attack her with conditioner-spray:)

Busy, busy, busy!

Still crazy at work and studying full time at the same time does not help. But it'll calm down at work, this I know from experience. Will write more then. Now: laundry:)

HR-management intro, running, scouting, friends!

Been a busy week, already, and it's only Tuesday!:)
Yesterday I had iontroducation day with the HR-management programme (towards a bechelor's degree) that I'm gonna study at Lund University the enxt three years. It was nice. A bit stressful though since I'm working full time at the student union of Malmö (another) university, which is also starting up this week. So I had to go into work first, really early, to get some work done and answer a ton of e-mails. (I answered some on Sunday night but some I had to use the scanner for and I have no scanner at home....). But the intro was nice and I'm looking forward to the different courses and my first lecture tomorrow! First I have a 5-hour meeting at work though...

Yesterday Malaika attended her first sscout-meeting. (my second, she was with her daddy last week). It was really windy so we had to cancel the sailing plans and imporvise some kind of meeting inside instead. With a group of 13 wild pre-ttens and a three year old it was kind of tiring. But fun!
Today we spent the evening with my friend Anna and her husband Seta and their son. They live in the neighbourhood so we could actually walk there:)

Tomorrow we'll have a quick visit from Malaika's grandmother.
Need I say she's looking forward to that?:)

I've also managed a visit to the gym today. I ran 10km on the threadmill! in 67 minutes. i'm quite pleased with myself!
I've actually lost 11 kg (24lbs or 1st 10 lbs) since christmas now! Yey me!!!!!

One more stone (14lbs or 6,3kg) to go then I'll be more than satisfied!

I'm still on Low carb High Fat and loving it! I go off it all the time though, weekends, vacations, visits to friends named Anna on a Tuesday night... But I always get back on. And although my weight fluctuates up and down it always goes a bit more down than up!
I started making LCHF-bread/biscuits this week. Already made my second round. They're great. Reciepe will come shortly!

Good night!

Have a nice weekend everybody!

The Youth of Today!

To all of you claiming that "today's youth" is respectless etc let me give you the following anecdote from "real life":
Malmö, Sweden, down town, during the annual festival. Around 11pm. I'm getting into a buss to go home with Malaika sleeping in the buggy. A whol gang of "today's youth" 818-20 year old men) are sitting right behind where you're supposed to put the buggy. They're singing quite loudly. But when I enter one of the guys (end the rest follow) exclaim "eeeyyy guys, be quite, shut up, there's a sleeping baby!" and he keep telling everyone to shut up and ultimately they're telling the whole buss to be queiet because Malaika is sleeping. It's not until I say "well guys, thanks a bunch, but once she's alseep you could fire a granade next to her so you guys jsut keep on singing, ok!" they start singing again (I'm not drunk I'm allergic to Pollen (mel. we all live in a yellow submarine" *lol*)
When they get of the busthey all wish me a nice evening and one of they guys, who misses to do so, actually COMES BACK to the bus door just to tell me to have a nice night! I love the youth of today!!!!!!!
:D

Before this happened we spent the afternoon with an old friend of mine at her boyfriend's place, they ahd a small aprty.

Malaika has also been to her first (but hopefully not last) Hoola Bandoola concert (my second!). It was great and Malaika actually enjoyed it at least for the first half hour! Then, being 3 yers old, she got quite bored:)¨She didn't really get why the old men with guitarrs were that interesting:)

Good night!

Yarn!

Well, I decied to have a blog-break but now I'm back! Tonight it's Friday and Malaika and I decided to have a carb-orgie. Pizza, crisps and chocolate, and pepsi. I do that every now and then to remind myself that it's not as good as I remember it and that I feel like crap after it.
The sugar rush is good while it lasts though:)

Malmö Festival starts tonight and I'm looking forward to a concert with Hoola Bandoola Band tomorrow and Emil Jensen on Sunday and Miss Li and Orup Tuesday night and maybe The Ark next Friday (if I can stay awake that late:D)

And yeah I got my new car! It's nice! And NEW! Thank you mum for helping me witht he cash deposit! Now I need some suggestions on where I could go with it??
Last week when i didn't have a car I could think of a thousands places and now I can't think of a single one haha!

Next Monday (10 days) I'm starting my new university studies. I'll start studying towards a bachelor in HR-management. First course is sociology. I'm already eagerly reading up on Marx, Weber, Durkheim and Simmel. SO looking forward to studying again!:)

Here are some pics of Malaika lately. The first two taken tonight during the sugar rush when she found my abandoned yarn-basket and an equally abandoned half-finished glove:D

Now I'm gonna watch a lecture on Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn before I go to sleep (realy nerdy I know but he's just brilliant! He's like Jesper Juul but in an understandable language (aka not Danish lol))

Enjoy!

We're alive!

No, we haven't gone underground or disappeared from the face of the earth. I just started working again after the summer vacation and we've been reall busy. In a good way! It was just as nice as I thought to go back to work again! Nice to see all the old collueges and nice to get to know the new ones! There are three new student representatives this year, and they're all very nice! They feel like good friends already!
This week, up until Wednesday, Malaika was supposed to be with her dad. But he cancelled yesterday. A bit late in my opinion but what can you do? I don't mind spending more time with my daughter!!
It was pouring outside this afternoon so after pre school we went home and had some supper and baked a mud-cake. Yummy! Too yummy!:) Then the rain stopped and we went for a long walk down to the little boat harbour. Malaika loves watching the boats, she wants to go there every evening! Then she fell asleep in the buggy on the way home, as usual. So now she's sleeping soundly in my bed and soon I will be doing the same!
I'm now looking forward to Wednesday, when my sister will be visiting from London, and Thursday-Friday when I'm off to a kick-off with work and Sunday when we'll be going to Malaika's pre-school mate's 3-year birthday party. Wiiii!
It's gonna be a crazy but fun week!

lotsa löööv!

Here are some pictures!

3 years old!!!!!!!

Malaika is 3 years old today! The 14th of July 2008 at 08.42 am she was born at Malmö Hospital. Happy birthday sweetheart!

I woke her up with happy birthday singing and lots of presents this morning! She was SO happy, you should have seen her smile when I started singing Happy Birthday!:

Unfortunately it's been raining all day so she's been having a quite boring birthday. But we've made cinnamon buns and chocolate buns too and the big party is on Saturday and they say it won't rain then so... No hard feelings!:)
